2010 getting Exciting

Filed under: NASCAR Sponsorship — goedtilley @ 7:36 pm

Well we are half way through 2010, and unfortunately it has not got off to the start I had hoped for. The economy in the United States is still recovering from the “The Great Recession” (Or as The Unit’s Dennis Haysbert says “the recession that made us great”) which has had a negative effect on my sponsorship progress, so sadly I have had to sit out the first two rounds of the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East. I am pleased to say that my team are working hard on getting the funding for the next round in May. (more…)

NASCAR; Can companies afford not to?

Filed under: NASCAR Sponsorship — goedtilley @ 6:17 pm

Anyone who watched the 2010 Edition of the Daytona 500 would have noticed that many of the world’s most famous companies have moved on from the Great Recession of 2009 and have began a huge marketing spend in America’s most watch sport, NASCAR. But many of you race fans would have noticed that this marketing spend didn’t just start today at the Daytona 500, it began at the start of Daytona Speed Weeks with the Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 at the Daytona Super Speedway. Watch The Lights?

Filed under: Uncategorized — goedtilley @ 6:58 pm

You’re probably wondering why my blog is titled “Watch the Lights”, well, back in the early nineties, before I started karting, I was introduced to the world of Motor bike racing, specifically Formula 2 Sidecar racing. How? Well my Dad’s good friend Brian Ditchfield was a sponsor and owner of a championship winning rider and passenger combo, Vince and Jamie Biggs (Pictured Below in the Isle of Man TT) (more…)

New Website Complete

Filed under: Uncategorized — goedtilley @ 1:27 am

Well after being challenged by my good friend Alex to build a website from scratch, I have finally done it. Its taken me a while and I have learnt a lot along the way but its finally here. As you can see I have integrated my personal blog into the site and also added a News Desk feature so you can keep upto date with my progress in the 2010 NASCAR Camping World Series.

Although we still have a lot of work to do before we get to the first race at Greenville Pickens, things seem to be on schedule and I am looking forward to updating you with the news as and when it happens. In the mean time enjoy the new site and please feel free to email the webmaster with any problems you may encounter when using the site. I recommend you use Internet Explorer to view the site as some of the newer Web Browsers do not display certain features, but we are working on it.

Anyway, enjoy the site.

Is it really the Holidays?

Filed under: Uncategorized — goedtilley @ 2:01 pm

While many motorsport teams will be winding down for Christmas, myself and Carbon Free Racing will be winding up for the fast approaching season. With less than 95 days to go before my first race in the NASCAR Camping World Series I will be spending the Holiday period completing an intense fitness program to ensure I am at my optimum fitness for the first race at Greenville Pickens.

While efforts are still ongoing to secure additional sponsors for the 2010 season, it is a quiet period on the funding front as many businesses shut down for the Holidays, so I am taking this opportunity to continue the fitness drive I started in August.
With that said, I am off to the gym.

MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR

Well its been a long time coming, but I have finally started a blog….and here it is.

This blog will keep you up to date on my latest news, views and my preparation for my first race in the NASCAR Camping World Series at the Greenville Pickens Raceway in March 2010.

You will hear from my sponsors and I will post information from the World of NASCAR. When the season starts you will be able to see race reports and footage from my races immediately after each race thanks to GoPro Cameras and Blip.tv.

Hopefully I will bring you interesting information and up to date news on my progress through the ranks of NASCAR.
